Description
Seeds: approx 50 glass gem corn seeds
Sow: in Spring, directly into garden beds and water well. Grow well away from sweet eating corn/or at different times to avoid cross pollination of the two varieties. Corn are a hungry and thirsty crop and will benefit from regular watering and feeding.
Harvest: When plants begin to brown off and die. Allow the kernels to dry thoroughly on cobs for at least 8 weeks before grinding into flour or cooking as popcorn.
Uses: Glass gem corn is not a fresh eating corn. It is harvested at the end of the plant cycle and can be used to make popcorn, flour or as decorations. Kernels are white on the inside – so popcorn is also white.
Seed-saving: Keep your favourite coloured cobs and replant their kernels next season.
Please keep in mind I am a home gardener and while I have been saving and re-sowing my seeds myself for years, they will sometimes not grow exactly as planned. Germination rates may vary, but I am being generous with the amount of seeds in each packet to account for this.
